biography
Julian Burns King graduated with honors from Harvard Law School and practiced at some of the country’s biggest litigation firms before co-founding King & Siegel in early 2018.
At King & Siegel, Ms. King is focused on asserting the rights of working parents and those facing discrimination or harassment in the workforce. She is the head of the Firm’s discrimination and harassment practice areas.
As a former attorney at big corporate law firms, she is intimately familiar with the challenges facing women at work and has experienced discrimination and harassment firsthand. These experiences led her to devote her professional life to representing workers who are harassed, demoted, suspended, or fired for resisting gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, and sexual harassment. For this work, she has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers every year since co-founding the Firm in 2018, an honor extended to no more than 3% of lawyers under 40 statewide.
Ms. King has also represented dozens of plaintiffs wronged by employers and government actors large and small. She has been lead counsel on dozens of cases leading to seven- and six-figure settlements on behalf of wronged workers. At her prior firms, Ms. King’s advocacy helped her clients recover over $750 million in high-stakes commercial cases and class actions.
Before attending Wellesley College, Ms. King represented the United States as a member of the national figure skating team. She is the mother of a toddler who often participates in firm events, photobombs Zoom calls, and was the indisputable star of the firm’s photo session. In her free time, Ms. King enjoys skiing, cooking for friends and family, and reading.
Ms. King is licensed to practice in California and New York.
